There is a strangeness of convergence that arcs from birth to end
From toddling to tottering, for walking help must near attend A need for cares that mirrors almost at the midst of life A danger dare to drive a car or wield a kitchen knife Raising bedside rails to stop the danger of the fall Support to stay in earshot to respond the crying call Not yet no longer toilet trained, all hygiene with assist Less then more as time does by of needs to fill the list A need for next of kin to come deciding what to choose Decision making failing reasoned, unsoundfully confused Consent no longer held within, held in another’s hand To be given or refused to answer all of life’s demands For those things consent required more private to be shared The lack to give but want to have, capacity impaired No intimacy left allowed when age at too extreme Declining of cognition means declining waking dream
