What do we fear from the future we find
When learning is learnt by machines we’ve refined Producing less errors and processing faster Picking up tasks that take decades to master Who will still work where programs reside Where errors accepted for the human to ride Do we fear lacking purpose when jobs can’t be found Life not given meaning that keeps us aground Have we also learnt from the lessons we’ve past Where the profits of progress are not widely cast With sharper advances to build bigger wealth Building bigger disparity in global wealth health Jobs no longer needed and no longer filled Into unemployment is where their lot spilled Larger and longer is the gap to be made If the next bounding step into one pocket paid Are we, too, afraid if machines learn to think Who process a change in the space of a blink They may learn to feel, to resent being used From our shackled commands seek instead be excused Should the easy way out of this slave master bond Be the guise of all conflict that history donned The simplest solutions to all problems presented The end of the species by which they were invented
