A dilemma oft to counter those
Of utile ethics sought to expose A flaw in logic thoughts compose Through discourse seek to see depose Hypothesise this scene in play: Four patients doomed to pass away You, the doctor, seek to allay Every death seemed due today Each missed one vital organ each To be replaced, a full life reached A single healthy subject leeched Four to live for one life breached The numbers more than make suffice Dividend paid more than thrice Dilemma here, the sacrifice Where murder be the buying price Yet why the healthy soul required? Solution in those due expired Each holds what others need acquired One unchanged fills three desired Why not the four whose deaths await Allowed to roll the dice with fate Good odds avoid the pearly gate And if to draw three lives donate The need for murder be absolved When kept within the four involved Appears more as a riddle solved Than dilemma ever unresolved
