Two days deep into a hike, traversing rivers, rocks and creeks
Climbing over moss-slick boulders, jagged sea-side peaks Navel deep through stony streams, tidal marshes crossed Markings hidden in the turn - the track is easy lost I take shelter from a growing storm in campsite toilet block The only structure on this hike - I’ve yet to need to knock On the door a sign with symbols stating it a loo And underneath the pair of people, braille is written too As I sit upon my camping chair, the rain a’clatter down I look upon this sign and cannot help but raise a frown Trying to imagine someone blind to make it here And then upon arriving need a sign when scent is clear It strikes me that bureaucracy was more involved than sense With a mandate making need all toilets adding this expense
