We’re all more connected, more able to know
Of the problems we face that do not shrink but grow Though we rally in numbers, demand there be change Too quickly to find our effect at end-range The changes are slower than the growing expands Too often reverted by deniers demands By those that have sown the seeds of our end Scavenging what they must ever defend We’re powerless to make a change as one within the all When faced with worldwide cataclysm waiting to befall Depressing not to have a say in where our future treads Seek a scent of power where our numbers rear their heads Engaging within mobs that match as proximate in part To something felt important; to attack who stand apart Tasting of the power of the consequences earned From the mob’s fanatic flames that see the target victim burned An easy bite of power makes believe a change is made An addiction newly craved to need, devoted to dissuade To recall the fruitless struggle to adjust the current track That the greater world is trained upon, unable to turn back
