Our world is full of fears for what the future holds,
Of traffic jams and mortgages, of debts never resolved, Of joblessness and apathy, unfulfillment growing old, So we seek escape to fiction - watch a better world unfold. An escape from overcrowded trains, apartment blocks and malls, Escape from lack of privacy, from uninvited calls, Escape from mob mentalities that normalise insane, Where everybody’s different so we must fight to be the same. We see the rise in presence, present every way we turn, The future fictions dreamed for us that every day we yearn, Most popular amongst them, the dream we seem to share, The rise in apocalyptica, a world with tangible despair. Where our enemies are plain to see and honest to the core, Where zombies hunger for our flesh and wish for nothing more, No hidden motives guiding them, no false facades and lies, No greed fueled willful ignorance, no unforeseen surprise. They kill all inequality, a global unifying force, Uniting all left living with no cares for where’s their source, Gone are the chains of sexism, of racial condemnation, Where everyone has value without all discrimination. Far too focussed on survival to feed the flames of hate, With everyone on common ground, a bond they can relate, Fulfillment comes in every breath, each moment longer lived, Life’s a purpose left to live for; now the ever giving gift. But what we crave above the rest, that sharpens our desire, Are the empty streets, empty stores, the freedom we acquire, Exploring empty cityscapes, along unrestricted road, Taking only what we need, we’re mindful of our load. We lose lose the burden of our wants, needs set to the fore, No pressure for consumption, to compete for more and more, All our worries, all our fears, are focussed down to one, So we thank the zombie outbreak for it simplified the sum.
