An instinct overrides when finding rocks at water’s edge
Desire returning rock to wet compelled by sacred pledge The bigger rock, the larger splash, the greater impact made Proof of consequential action to the world displayed The legacy a moment of the splash and crashing sound Resulting ripples fading to no memory left found Stillness of the water after insult to the throw Another rock, more dazzling splash, pride demands to show The skimming stone more splashes and more time before the still Practice making better see reward with growing skill Pride to ride the ripples for a moment’s moment more Settle to the same bar one more rock on lake-bed floor
