“Those who do not move, do not notice their chains.” Rosa Luxemburg Change is not constant, not unceasingly driven,
It suffers to wait, stays dependent on action, Its progress not passive, unilaterally given, It’s a slave to our thoughts, to those finding traction. It is chained to the masses, all people connected, Some straining against them, pulling Change their direction, Some try to unite, with their straining collected, Still others oppose, make their force a rejection. Chains splaying out, forming the spokes of a wheel, Pulling in concert, with Change at the core, A balance made stagnant, Change made to be still, The extremes disagreeing on which way to the fore. Those staying closer, not choosing to strain, Looking outside, find the strugglers strange, They feel not the burden, nor the weight of the chain, Forget they are masters, forget that they control Change. Stagnation is easy, routine makes them feel safe, Not having a choice is the safest to make, The guilt does not gall and the chains do not chafe, The blame thrown at those who put something at stake. The stopping means death, means total decay, Change must find change or find death at the end, Chains must be strained, must pull Change some way, Choosing a choice, make one minor amend.
