Plastic rubbish paves the streets
With refuse rivers tides repeats Riding waves of plastic shells Cups, containers, fishnet swells Flow to places not been thrown To punish those who don’t condone Decaying, breaking livelihoods With everlasting plastic goods Downstream pay the cost of what The upstream never cared forgot Act and consequence divorced Never prompted feel remorsed For drowning fish in blighted streams Turtles float through sunken dreams Of current trends new islands grow Unnatural wastelands waste will sow Of sizes hard to comprehend The iceberg tip when ice to end When easy, cheaper to discard Reuse, repair unduly hard In making there the rubbish cast To whom the cost the burden passed Need manufacture meeting cost To pay the price where waste is tossed
