Some people fear that helping helps the problem to repeat
If given this unearned support, reward from else defeat The failure is selected for, no higher aim complete Never need to first attempt stand on their own two feet See suffering as chosen by those down upon their luck Greedy for those helping hands who seek them come unstuck Take advantage of and dragging down this naive helping schmuck Better set ignore the poor, best couldn’t give a buck This mindset’s not a one-way street, the not-giving also take Seek to reap all handouts, they crave eat and keep the cake Claim the need with equal greed to those they see as fake While determined that no other may yet ride upon their wake Demand the help be limited, but while it does remain A selfishness of justice holds they claim all they can gain All ships rise by the same tide, with some more leaks to drain Those that sink beneath the sea have but themselves to blame
