I’m often faced with feeling something evil has been done
A disregard for others causing pain to more or one It’s easy not to try to shape my feet into their shoes Blocking context complication - simply nothing to confuse So I try to frame my grievance from the griefer’s point of view Imagination making shape the blameless kind of shoe What situation would remove the harm that I would feel From the action that seemed an attack and harder wound to heal The story can be altered to invert the victim found As a sufferer of circumstance, to hidden reasons bound Though some may seem more dubious, yet chance can see them true The more imagination, the more hurt I can eschew Then instead of feeling victimised, I’m in a place to aid Support this newfound sufferer if they wish it to be made Each instance becomes easier, a skill that practice grows This effort for compassion more automatic to impose Everyone’s a story at least as complex as my own The moment seen a sliver of the whole remained unknown So that each one has a reason for their actions in the now And I can relish making stories helping peer into the how
